Awkwafina

Awkwafina started out as a American musician and rapper performing sly tunes that dealt with questions of race and sexual identity with a comedic twist. Prior to her move into Hollywood the singer had the opportunity to release a number of songs. Nora Lum is the daughter of Chinese and Korean parents who hail from Forest Hills Queens. The trumpet was her first instrument. Later, she began traditional and hip-hop training. While at school, she majored in journalism, and women's studies, and was studying Mandarin in Beijing for a stint. The focus changed to music once she graduated. Her song My Vag, a response track to Mickey Avalon's My Dick gained viral popularity via the Internet in 2012. It eventually made it on her first album Yellow Ranger released in 2014. The album also featured viral hit tracks including body-positive Queef and a wink-y home tour NYC Bitche$1. This song is directly connected to Awkwafina's NYC, a 2015 travel guide. After a successful career as a performer, she chose to assume the role of actor. Her film credits include films like Neighbors 2 Storks, and Bad Rap. In 2018, she scored her first major role in a number of high-profile films such as Dude Ocean's 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. In June, she released In Fina We Trust.
