LeBron Raymone James Sr. is an American basketball player who is a player for the Los Angeles Lakers in the National Basketball Association. King James, he's widely thought of as the best player of all-time and frequently compared to Michael Jordan during debates about the greatest basketball player of all time. James has been awarded four NBA championships four NBA MVP awards four NBA Finals MVP awards three All-Star MVP awards and two Olympic gold medals. James is the player with the most points during the playoffs, the second most career points and is the seventh player with the most career assists. James has been named an NBA All-Star 18 times to the All-NBA Team a record 18 times. He was also selected to be named to the NBA All-Defensive First Team five times. The ten NBA Finals is the most ever, including eight in succession between 2011 and 2018. In 2018 he was also selected for the NBA 75th Anniversary Team. In 2021 James was chosen to join make the NBA 75th Anniversary Team, and in 2022 became the first player of NBA history to accumulate at least 10,000 career points in rebounds and assists. James played basketball with St. Vincent St. Mary High in Akron Ohio, where he grew up. National media touted James as a possible NBA superstar. The Cleveland Cavaliers selected him with the top pick in the NBA draft in 2003. He was named one of the NBA rookie of the year in 2004. Soon he became one of the premier players of the NBA, winning the NBA MVP Award twice in as of 2009 and in 2010. James signed a free-agent contract in 2010, after he failed to win championships with Cleveland. He made the decision to leave Cleveland to join Miami Heat, announced on the show on television The Decision, is considered one of the controversial free-agent moves in sports history.
